Streamers

Fly fishing streamers

  • This is a fly with the same colors but with a few modifications, based on a fly I’ve used a lot called Ece Spade. That fly has probably given me the best brown trout fishing I can remember, so it’s a big favorite of mine. I made a few updates, and it’s fair to call this version the “little brother” of the ES. The fly is weighted, tied on a strong SE hook with black and brown hackle in the tail, along with silver flash. The body is black chenille with a holo wing. It’s ribbed with gray Grizzly and finished with a black head. An excellent streamer fly.

  • This is a variant of the Black Ghost, the powerful fly that should be in every fly box, whether for salmon, brown trout, or sea trout. The fly is slightly weighted and tied on a strong SE hook.
  • A streamer fly that always works; silver and black are probably the most common colors in flies in general. The fly is tied on a strong, short SE hook with Grizzly and silver in the tail. The body is weighted and wrapped with silver chenille, with a black hen hackle and a black head.
  • Drési

A streamer fly tied with a gold body, black hen feathers in the tail along with tinsel, white hackle wraps, and weighted. The head is hot orange. A must-have in every fly collection.
  • This fly was created many years ago, probably when one was fishing in the east at Grenilæk, Tungufljót, and other rivers. As you can see, it is a mix of Rektor and Flæðamús, which were what we caught a lot of during those years. I had forgotten about this fly, as it happens, but now it is reborn in a size 21 version. Eldibrandur was originally tied on large streamer hooks size S-L but now it is on this Predator hook.
  • Glepja

A streamer fly tied with a red tinsel body, red hen feathers in the tail along with tinsel, grizzly gray hackle wraps, weighted, with a halo wing and black head. A must-have in every fly collection.
  • Golden

A streamer fly tied with a gold body, black hen feathers in the tail along with gold tinsel, black hackle wraps, weighted, and finished with a black head. A must-have in every Sorpi collection.
  • Green Pearl

It is a powerful streamer fly with white hen feathers in the tail along with pearl color; the body is made of pearl and finally bright green in the ribbing. GP can be obtained both weighted and unweighted.
  • Günther

A streamer fly tied with a black body, yellow hen feathers in the tail with silver tinsel, orange hackle wraps, weighted, and finished with a black head. A must-have in every Fly collection.
  • Hektor is a weighted streamer available in sizes S-L with a gold or bronze body sold together. The model is, of course, the famous Rektor that everyone knows. It was first tied to test in the Laxárdalur valley and proved to be excellent, also performing just as well at Þingvellir.
  • Jón Kopar is a streamer fly inspired by the world-famous nymph called Cooper John. Jón Kopar is a weighted streamer fly and is available two sizes S and L
  • Loftur is a streamer fly, the little brother of the Þingeyjingar, that wonderful fly. It is weighted and made from the same colors as the Þingeyjingar. Sizes S and L
  • A powerful streamer fly with chartreuse hen feathers in the tail, a Turkey-style body, and sparkle in the tail. It has a palmered wrap of chartreuse hen, a holographic wing, and a hot orange head. The fly is tied on a strong, short, straight-eye SE hook, with added weight on the body.
  • Nobbi

    5
Nobbi is likely one of the best streamers we use when targeting brown trout, with a slight weight added to the body. I've used it extensively, and it has often yielded fantastic catches. But why tie it on when the original version is already so effective? The answer is simple: just because! Available in one size.
  • Olive Rektor

Rektor is arguably one of the best streamers we use when targeting brown trout. Tied with Grizzly Olive fibers in the tail along with gold tinsel, a body covered in olive cactus chenille, and grizzly hackle wraps. The head is hot orange.
  • Rektor simply the best for trout.
  • Sand Eel

This is an imitation of a sand eel, available in 7 cm and 9 cm. The eel is very effective in estuary fishing or where sea trout come in search of food. The body of the sand eel is weighted.
  • This is a fly I use a lot for sea trout; as people know, purple is not commonly used in fly fishing. This fly is incredibly effective, tied on a strong, short, weighted SE hook with a purple hackle in the tail along with silver flash. The body is purple chenille with a holo wing, wrapped with a white hackle and a black head. Stjáni always surprises.
  • Valli

    6

    Valli

Stream fly tied with sea-blue pearl body, black hen feathers in the tail, ring-wrapped along with two types of glitter. Weight. Should be in all wallets.
  • Old but gold! Here is an old and reliable fly that has worked very well for me, especially in spring fishing when everything is stirring in the shallows both on the bank and in the water. It is called Hálsrígur because of the way the fish react when it lands on the water. Two sizes S-L.
