This is a fly with the same colors but with a few modifications, based on a fly I’ve used a lot called Ece Spade. That fly has probably given me the best brown trout fishing I can remember, so it’s a big favorite of mine. I made a few updates, and it’s fair to call this version the “little brother” of the ES. The fly is weighted, tied on a strong SE hook with black and brown hackle in the tail, along with silver flash. The body is black chenille with a holo wing. It’s ribbed with gray Grizzly and finished with a black head. An excellent streamer fly.

This wonderful fly is in my top three. The author of the fly is Megan Boyd from Scotland, who was one of the best fly tiers in the world, although she never fished with flies. She dedicated her life to this art and passed away in 1988 at the age of 86. The name of the fly comes from a fishing area called Arndilly, which is in the Spey River. This fly has given me many good salmon and beautiful catches. I have also tied it with a silver body, and it is incredibly effective that way.

This fly was created many years ago, probably when one was fishing in the east at Grenilæk, Tungufljót, and other rivers. As you can see, it is a mix of Rektor and Flæðamús, which were what we caught a lot of during those years. I had forgotten about this fly, as it happens, but now it is reborn in a size 21 version. Eldibrandur was originally tied on large streamer hooks size S-L but now it is on this Predator hook.

Hrappurinn was created after a conversation among three people about how flies don’t need to be complicated to catch fish. A great fly and incredibly effective. Someone said that this is just a Collie Dog with peacock, which it precisely is. The Hrappurinn has proven to be the best for me on a fast strip.

Kobbi
Sold three together, size 12-14, cone head. Here’s yet another fly from a private collection, created after discussions about flies with a copper color. The original model was the Phatakorva fly, which has caught many big fish. This fly has also been tied with a hot orange head. These are powerful small flies, a fun addition to AD fly collection.
