The Fathom is a handmade wrist band used to measure the length the catch and is worn around the wrist. The Fathom is made out of a suede leather cord and has a magnetic clasp. The distance between the larger silver beads is 10 cm and the distance between the smaller silver beads are 5 cm. The three letters on the Fathom are used to indicate the following: X stands for the zero mark; R is equal to the 70 cm mark and indicates the maximum length for release, and M stands for one meter. The Fathom is very user friendly and is available in lengths up to 150 cm
